Africa Fest is a celebration of African culture, art, and history. This family event is an immersive opportunity to engage with the rich contemporary cultures of the continent. Performances by Kaira Ba, Mickey Mills, and Band, Commissioned Poetry by CJ Suitt, Fred Joiner, and Cortland Gilliam, Eritrean-Ethiopia Student Association and Zankiliwa, both UNC student group performances, Silas Piper, Afropop singer & guitarist from Ethiopia and Kenya (UNC freshman), and Igbo masquerade display and dance. Music by DJ Sphinx and event MC – CDK!

We have t-shirts and tote bags to give away, activities for the kids, African-authored books on sale at Golden Figs, and delicious food by Weaver Street Market!
