Faculty Travel Awards

Modest ASC funding is available for faculty conference travel. These funds are awarded on a first-come basis, and priority is given (but not limited) to paper presentations. Information and Application

The Center for Global Initiatives also offers faculty Conference Presentation Awards. These awards offer modest support to faculty and staff who are presenting scholarly work at major conferences abroad. These awards must be matched by your department, school or unit. More Information


Speaker Funds

The ASC offers limited funds to help bring Africanist speakers and presenters to campus and to North Carolina communities. The ASC welcomes collaboration and cooperation with other campus organizations. We are interested in hearing your ideas for events and speakers. Information and Application


Course Development Awards

The Center for Global Initiatives is accepting applications for the CGI Faculty Curriculum Development Awards. Awards of up to $4,000 are available to faculty interested in: adding global content to existing courses that lack global content, adding comparative cases to courses that are currently area-specific, or developing new courses with significant global content. This year, CGI prioritizes courses that focus on water, which is the 2012-13 pan-university theme. Application Deadline: February 7, 2012. For more information and to apply, please see the CGI website
